Coming off their 21-20 win Saturday evening, defeating the New York Sportimes, the WTT Washington Kastles advanced their win streak 9-0 in a come-from-behind effort.
The comeback win was the biggest in franchise history to give the Kastles their 25th straight victory.
Last evening the Washington Kastles swept their opponent, the 3-7 Kansas City Explorers, 25-8, behind some superb play from Olympians Venus Williams, Leander Paes of India and Anastasia Rodionova of Australia.
Each player won two sets to give the Kastles their 26th consecutive victory.
The Washington Kastles (10-0) are the 2009, and 2011 WTT Champions and are looking to gain another title this year. No other Washington sports team has had such a winning streak, winning multiple championships, this decade.
When Kastles' owner Mark Ein was introduced as the team's owner, someone in the Kastles audience yelled, “Mark, buy the Redskins!”
Seemingly, that person thinks the Ein touch could start a win streak for the lack luster Washington Redskins.
Ein had no comment on the remark.
