Fans of D.C. United forward Jaime Moreno can get to see the star play in his final game this Saturday.
Moreno joined United during its inaugural season and has had a hand in every major trophy United has won.
“Jaime has had a truly legendary career and we wanted to honor him by providing a lasting memento for the passionate fans who have supported him and United through the years,” said Erik A. Moses, managing director of the WCSA’s Sports, Entertainment and Special Events Division. “With his list of accomplishments, Moreno is certainly befitting the title of “RFK Stadium Legend.”
Moreno has been a driving force behind all 12 of United’s major domestic and international titles, an unmatched record by any club in the history of American professional soccer.
A seven time All-Star and four-time MLS champion, he was named as a Commissioner’s pick to the 2010 MLS All-Star squad that faced Manchester United. Moreno became the MLS all-time goal-scoring leader after tallying number 109 on August 22, 2007.
The Washington Convention and Sports Authority (WCSA) is providing commemorative posters Moreno to the first 10,000 fans attending this Saturday's Toronto FC vs. D.C. United game at RFK Stadium Saturday. Game time 7:30 p.m.
