Remember last year's draft that bought these guys to Washington?
Well, get ready to join the Washington Wizards this Thursday for the 2010 NBA Drafts when the Wizards exercise their number one draft pick that, by all accounts, should cement the deal that will bring Kentucky's John Wall to Washington.
On the same night, catch the Washington Mystics as they host former Mystic, DeLisha Milton-Jones, along with Tina Thompson starting at 7pm.
The Mystics have matched their early season winning streak of three with a 65-61 overtime victory against the Chicago Sky (the second over Chicago)last Saturday that saw newcomer, Katie Smith leading the contest with 17 points and five rebounds. Smith scored five of the team's nine points in overtime. Matee Ajavon added 10 points in the winning effort.
Forward Jacinta Monroe, who sustained a fractured left hand in the effort, had successful surgery to repair the fracture of her left hand she sustained during the first half of Saturday's win. She is expected to be out six to eight weeks.
Monroe missed all of training camp, and reports say she was starting to adjust to playing in the WNBA and was making a number of very positive contributions to the organization.
The 6-5 post player from Florida State University was drafted in the first round (sixth overall) of the 2010 WNBA draft.
The Mystics also beat New York (82-65) on June 11.
