Fan Appreciation Week just keeps on getting better. And what could be better for Caps fans than beating arch rival (and Stanley Cup winner), the Pittsburgh Penguins?
The Caps defeated the Penguins 6-3 (on their turf) last evening in the final regular season match up between the two.
The Caps had four players who scored in the game's opening. Ovechkin had seven goals and 10 points and was plus-8 in the four Caps-Penguins games this season.
The win gives the Caps a season’s series (4-0) sweep from the Penguins for the first time in franchise history. (See game highlights).
This should make the playoffs very, very interesting.
