Derby Diamond Dave, the ‘Voice of the DCRG’ since league’s inception, will call his last bout.
As a holiday gift to their fans, the DC Rollergirls will offer up not one but two heart-stopping full-length bouts for the price of one ticket on Saturday, December 19 at the DC Armory. The D.C. All-Stars, consisting of the top skaters from D.C.’s three roller derby teams, take on Poe’s Punishers of Richmond’s River City Rollers in their first WFTDA-sanctioned home bout of the season.
To kick off the night, DCRG’s B-team, the Capital Offenders, test their mettle against Female Trouble of Baltimore’s Charm City Rollergirls.
Doors open at 3 p.m. and the action begins at 4 p.m. At halftime, the award-winning Anacostia Rollers & Friends are back in the house with their amazing “Show on Skates.”
Longtime DC Rollergirls fans won’t want to miss the opportunity to bid farewell to the voice of DCRG since the beginning. Derby Diamond Dave will don his signature sparkly jacket one last time to call his final bout.
Tickets are $12 for ages 12 and up, $6 for children 6-11 and free for kids 5 and under. Tickets are available at www.ticketmaster.com or at the door on bout day. Individuals with a valid military ID can purchase tickets for $10 at the door.
