Loudoun's Todd Hill Receives The Honor
The Washington Redskins announced that head football coach Todd Hill of Loudoun County High School in Leesburg, VA has been named Redskins High School Coach of the Week for the week of September 7, 2009.
The Redskins High School Coach of the Week program is designed to recognize and reward excellence in high school football coaching.
Coach Hill is currently in his third year as head coach at Loudoun County High School and has been coaching high school football for over 16 years. The Raider football team is coming off a 2008 season record of 6-4 and a playoff berth. His leadership and dedication to the team has led the Raiders from a 2-8 record in 2007 to the playoffs last season. This season Loudoun County is viewed as a serious contender for the 2009 District Title as well as another playoff berth. Hill’s continuing commitment and motivation to the team and the school extends off the field where he is active at other Loudoun County high school events.
“Coach Hill is adamant that he not be portrayed as just a football coach. He serves as the school’s activities director, organizing the clubs and activities school-wide. He also holds clinics for youth football players and their coaches as well as area high school coaches and participates in the Redskins 4th & Life forum” says Loudoun County High School Athletic Director, Kenneth Wright. The Raiders have started the season 1-0 winning their first game 38-0.
Hill comes to Loudon after coaching at Winchester's Handley High were he coached from 1995-2001 where he led them to a second-place finish in the Group AA Division 3 state playoffs in 1999. He also guided the team to two regional titles and two state semifinals. The Judges averaged seven wins a year with Hill as coach.
The coach of the year award recipient receives a $1,000 donation from NFL Charities to their football program and a framed certificate signed by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and Redskins Head Coach Jim Zorn.
