Crystal Langhorne scored 19 points and Lindsey Harding added 16 to lead the Washington Mystics to an 87-73 victory over the Sacramento Monarchs on Sun. July 26 at the Verizon Center.
Langhorne shot 7 of 11 from the field and grabbed eight rebounds. Harding scored 10 points in the first quarter, including an end-to-end driving layup that gave Washington a 30-13 lead after one quarter.
The Mystics (9-7) built a 17-point lead in the first quarter and cruised to their second straight win. They also ended an eight-game losing streak against Sacramento.
Kara Lawson scored 16 points to lead the Monarchs (4-15), who never got within seven points in the second half. DeMya Walker had 13 points and Nicole Powell added 11.
Chasity Melvin scored four straight points, and Monique Currie's 3-pointer with 2:17 left secured the victory. Currie finished with 12 points and Melvin added 10.
Sacremento's Nicole Powell scored 11 points for the Monarchs, and Crystal Kelly added 10.
