~Mystics Get Second Win of the Season!
After beating the Connecticut Sun on the road this past Saturday with an 82-70 win, the Mystics continue on their win streak by defeating the Atlanta Dream, 77-71 at home in the season's home opener. Alana Beard had 27 points, to add to team mate Crystal Langhorne's ten points and eight rebounds.

~Tiger, Tiger Woods Ya'll! Off to a slow start, Tiger Woods makes a come-from-behind effort to win the Memorial Tournament on yesterday in Dublin, Ohio.

``Tiger Woods is always Tiger Woods,'' said runner-up Jim Furyk, who finished alone in second, a shot back. ``He can't be 100 percent every week. But I'm sure he answered a lot of questions today.''

Just eight months after knee surgery Tiger has won the U.S. Open at Torrey Pines and the Arnold Palmer Invitational. (What other athlete wins to this degree like Tiger has after surgery?) See other 2009 tournaments Tiger has won.

``I knew I could do this", said Woods. ``It's just a matter of give me a little bit of time. I just came off a pretty extended break, and I was close to winning, but the game wasn't quite there when I really needed it on Sunday. I rectified that.''

This event was so important that actor/rapper Fonzworth Bentley tells us that he's planning to address the issue of AIDS/HIV awareness in an upcoming segment of the show he produces, "From Gs To Gents".

~Why Is There Always A Crazy Person Bum Rushing The Athlete?
Congrats to Roger Federer on winning his very first French Open. I always look forward to a competitive Federer and Nadal match each year. (Are they not the two most handsome guys in tennis right now?)

Roger beat Robin Soderling of Sweden 6-1, 7-6 (7-1), 6-4 Sunday to complete a career Grand Slam with his first championship at Roland Garros. We knew it would come eventually.

But my question is this: Why is there always a crazy person bum rushing the athlete to 'make a statement', or get their five minutes of fame? What's up with that?

Watch the video to witness the crazy guy who tries to put a flag (or something) on Roger, then tries to elude officials.

Roger, not putting up a fight (a.k.a. his dukes) on what could have been a potentially harmful occurrence, took the mishap quite calmly, saying...
"All of a sudden I heard the crowd, and I looked over and he jumped over the fence or something.''
(Truly the security detail should be fired. First for allowing anyone to run on the tennis court, let alone approach a player while a match is in session).

A note to crazy people everywhere who bum rush the court, the field, or whatever the space occupied during a live sporting event: No streaking, running towards your fav athlete on the field, and definitely none of this.
