LaMont Peterson Wins In Puerto Rico!

DC native, LaMont Peterson won with a 7th round TKO, in just 1:11 minutes over his opponent, Willy Blain (20-1, 3 KOs) in a scheduled 12 round fight at the Coliseo Ruben Rodriguez in Bayamon, Puerto Rico.

Blain had trouble with the thumb of his right hand, and couldn't continue fighting the 140 pound Peterson. This was the first lost for Willy Blain.

Peterson, now 27-0, punched 43% to Blaine's 19%, throwing 408 punches to Blaine's 394for the WBO junior welterweight title.

Congrats to LaMont!

The main event (shown on HBO's Boxing After Dark) featured Puerto Rico's Juan Manuel Lopez vs Gerry Panalosa. On HBO, these two get the coverage for the main event; but around these here parts, its LaMont Peterson all day, baby!

Amazing story of a guy (and his brothers) who were once homeless.

Proves that God is watching us all, and has us in his corner.
