Washington Redskins' tight end, Chris Cooley, invests in high-school seniors by initiating the Chris Cooley Education Fund.
Through the fund, Cooley will provide eight high school seniors in the Washington, DC metro areas with a $25,000 college scholarship.
Cooley will visit the area high schools in a span of three days to speak to the student body about the importance of education in both his and their lives.
At each school, Cooley will make a $5,000 donation to the school’s academic programs and announce the establishment of college scholarships through the fund.
Cooley held a press conference today at Fairmont Heights High School in Capitol Heights, MD and again at Montgomery Blair High School in Silver Spring, MD to launch his new initiative.
Cooley plans to continue his visits to area High Schools in Virginia, Maryland and the District through the rest of the week.
No official word of the educational fund is mentioned on the official Chris Cooley web site, but we'll keep you posted.
