Chris McHenry has been the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week after averaging almost 14 points in Howard's four games during that period.
A 5-11, 175-pound freshman guard from Milwaukee, Wisc., McHenry poured in a career-high 29 points against Wyoming in the Duel in the Desert Tournament in Logan, Utah. He connected on 8 of 16 from the field and was a perfect 11 for 11 from the free throw line.
McHenry followed that performance with 18 points against LaSalle University, hitting on 7 of 11 from the field, including a sizzling 4 of 5 from beyond the arc.
For the week, he averaged 2.8 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.3 steals while making good on all 13 of his free throw attempts.
McHenry, who comes off the bench, is currently second on the team in scoring, averaging almost 10 points per game.
