FedEx Field - The Washington Redskins and the Marine Corps Toys For Tots program treated students from local schools to a toy giveaway today.
In the spirit of the Holiday, each student was given one toy and got to meet Redskins players Lorenzo Alexander (#79), Matt Sinclair(#58), Chad Rhinehart(#75), along with Ms. Teen DC Jasmine Alexis, inside the Redskin’s locker room.
Also on hand were the Hogettes, and of course, Santa himself.
Participating schools included Barnaby Manor Elementary, Burroughs Elementary, Cora L. Rice, Grafton School, UHOP Academy, and Sousa Middle School, among many others.
Toys for Tots began in Los Angeles in 1947 by Major Bill Hendricks of the US Marine Corp and a group of Marine Reservists. The successful program has distributed more than 370 million toys to over 130 million needy children. Visit toysfortots.org for more info.
