Agent Zero Pledges Bucks for D.C. Area Schools

October - 30, 2007 (Verizon Center)- Reigning NBA Wizards champ Gilbert Arenas kicked off his 2007 'Score for Schools' campaign at the Verizon Center this week where he pledged to donate funds to worthy D.C. area schools.

Gilbert, who stated, "Our public schools are terrible right now", plans to donate $100 for each point made during the regular NBA season (away games included - via matching donations by owner, Abe Pollin).

Gil-berrrt! Arenas

Putting that into perspective (hypothetically) means that whether Gil scores six (can't image him scoring less) or sixty points, a school will receive a nice donation, courtesy of Agent Zero.

Schools that benefited from the 'Score for Schools' campaign last year included Benjamin Banneker AHS , East Silver Spring Elementary School, Kenilworth Elementary School, Oxon Hill High School, and MLK Jr. Elementary School.

A total of 82 schools in the D.C. area will have been blessed by Arenas' generosity by the end of the 2007-2008 season.

Now, that's a good look!
