DC Armor Expansion Football Team Ready To Roll!

The DC Armor professional football team held a media conference today to introduce their thirty-man roster for this season.

Several of the team's members have roots in, or ties to, the DC metro area.

Linebacker James Gibson hails from Alexandria, VA; while wide receiver, Darnell McDonald is from Fairfax, VA. WR Vincent Thomas is from Landover, MD; and Almonzo Banks, Marcus Hill, William Haith, Roland Minor, Deonte’ Holden, Cedric Scott, Ronnie Smith and Damon Tolson are all from DC.

The team also brings players with NFL experience in Randy Hymes who played with the Baltimore Ravens; wide receiver Dave Howell with the Oakland Raiders, and Darnell McDonald, a former Jacksonville Jaguar. The team's QB, Mike Scipione, had a brief stint with the New England Patriots.

While the coaches and players say they are not in competition with the Washington Redskins or any of the other area's professional sports teams, they do guarantee fans and attendees solid performances, and good time, each time out.

The DC Armor play in the American Indoor Football Association (AIFA).

Differences you might notice about indoor football games.

Games are played on a 50 yard indoor football field, enclosed by mid-high walls around the entire perimeter of the field. The gold posts are suspended from the ceiling, rather than being supported on the playing field.

The Eastern High School marching band is the official team band, and DC native and father of Go-Go, Chuck Brown will perform at half time.

The team's first home game is April 4th at 7pm. For ticket info see the team's website at DCArmor.com.
